Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today released the following statement regarding the effort to bring to a vote a United Nations Security Council Resolution regarding Israel:
“As 87 of my colleagues and I wrote to President Obama earlier this year, one-sided resolutions at the UN are not helpful in trying to resolve the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians and I call on the Administration to do everything in its power to make sure this resolution is not put forward or passed. The only way to resolve this conflict is through direct negotiations between the two parties that lead to a two-state solution with a future Palestinian state living in peace and security with Israel.”
