“Today is a day to recognize and reflect on the brave and courageous commitment Americans have made to the Army over the past 237 years,” said Senator Gillibrand. “New York is home to Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division, one of the most deployed units in the Army as well as the United State Military Academy at West Point, one of the world’s preeminent leadership institutions, producing nearly 1,000 second lieutenants each year committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country. It brings me great pride and joy to recognize those that have made the courageous and selfless commitment to the Army on its 237th birthday.”
