“I am relieved that the Supreme Court has halted the previous misguided and dangerous ruling that reversed FDA approval of mifepristone. Doctors have prescribed mifepristone as a safe and effective treatment for more than 20 years, and I am grateful it will continue to be available to those who need it. But while this decision is a welcome respite from the nationwide assault on women’s bodily autonomy, the fight does not end here. Opponents of women’s reproductive freedom and basic civil liberties will continue to erode women’s right to privacy in the courts, statehouses and Congress. We must keep fighting until every American — women, men, and children — can exercise their right to personal privacy, civil liberty, and equal justice under the law. I will continue to work in Congress to codify these rights into law.”
