Albany, N.Y. – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today issued the following statement in recognition of the Albany Institute of History & Art’s 225th Anniversary.
“The Albany Institute of History & Art is one of the oldest and most respected museums in the country. For 225 years, this dynamic museum has helped bring to life stories about our past, and has taught generations of families in the Capital Region about our history, our art, and our culture. The collection at the Albany Institute is immense, and their exhibits are always impressive, from the stories about our agriculture and manufacturing tradition to the museum’s famous mummies. This anniversary is an incredible milestone, and it is a testament to the commitment this museum has to the public – and to the value that the public has placed on preserving history for future generations. The Albany Institute of History and Art is one of the nation’s great treasures, and I am honored to congratulate them on their 225th anniversary.”
