Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today met with cadets from West Point’s Domestic Affairs forum group to hear their thoughts, concerns and ideas, and discuss Senator Gillibrand’s priorities to keep West Point strong.
“West Point has one of the most proud traditions in our country,” Senator Gillibrand said. “It’s home to some of our bravest men and women in uniform. West Point cadets are working to keep America safe and build a better future for us all. I’ve worked hard since day one to stand up for our veterans and those serving today in the Armed Forces, and I pledge to always be a voice for those who serve.”
Senator Gillibrand discussed with the cadets a broad range of issues, including efforts to improve education and prepare all New York students for the jobs of the future.
As a member of the Armed Services Committee in the House of Representatives, Senator Gillibrand has always been a strong voice for America’s veterans and members of the Armed Services serving overseas. In the Senate, Gillibrand is continuing that charge – standing up for those serving in the Armed Forces and their families.
