Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand brought Senior Advisor to President Biden and White House Infrastructure Coordinator Mitch Landrieu to Plattsburgh for a tour of Beta Technologies, a leading electric aerospace manufacturer. Senator Gillibrand is committed to bringing clean electric infrastructure to the North Country and her visit with Mitch Landrieu will help support federal infrastructure investment throughout the region.
Senator Gillibrand and Mitch Landrieu were joined by CEO of Beta Technologies Kyle Clark, Assemblymember Billy Jones, President and CEO of the North Country Chamber of Commerce Garry Douglas, and Executive Director of the Clinton County Industrial Development Agency Molly Ryan.
“Beta Technologies is a national leader in electric aviation,” said Senator Gillibrand. “I was proud to have the opportunity today to show Senior Advisor to the President Mitch Landrieu the innovative work in clean energy happening right here in Upstate New York. I hope to continue to work closely with the White House, with Beta Technologies, and with North Country local leaders to bring federal investment to the region and help it become a center of clean energy innovation and manufacturing.”
“It was great to join Senator Gillibrand to see the electric cargo aircraft that BETA Technologies is building,” said Senior Advisor to President Biden and White House Infrastructure Implementation Coordinator Mitch Landrieu. “When the private and public sector work together, we can boost domestic manufacturing, diversify our workforce, and strengthen our supply chains. We can build a better and smarter clean energy economy.”
“BETA Technologies is a great example of some of the things happening in the North Country transportation and manufacturing sector,” said Assemblyman Billy Jones (D-Chateaugay Lake). “Between developing green technologies and their partnership with CVES, BETA Technologies is making a difference in our communities and is on the cutting edge of electric aerospace technology. It was a pleasure to join Senator Gillibrand and Senior Advisor to President Biden and White House Infrastructure Coordinator Mitch Landrieu for the tour and I am glad that they were able to see some of their impressive work.”
“We are acutely aware of this truth, and alongside BETA Technologies, we firmly grasp its significance. The green economy and electric technology are not mere passing fads; they represent the very trajectory towards a more sustainable and prosperous future. BETA Technologies stands at the forefront on this transformative path. It is always wonderful to have Senator Gillibrand back in the Town of Plattsburgh. We are delighted to have Senior Advisor Mitch Landrieu joining her to witness Plattsburgh embrace its rich aerospace history, from the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base to the present activities on the Plattsburgh International Airport campus. We take immense pride in this legacy, and it serves as a foundation for our promising journey towards building greener, brighter tomorrow.” Michael S. Cashman, Plattsburgh Town Supervisor.
“Infrastructure is partly about things like roads and bridges. But more than ever, it is also about the development and production of green transportation,” says Garry Douglas, President of the North Country Chamber of Commerce. “BETA Technologies is a standout part of our region’s diverse transportation equipment and aerospace cluster, symbolizing the present and future of the North Country economy and its significant place in the changing landscape of North American transportation. We thank Senator Gillibrand for her continued, active interest in supporting this key element of our future economy by bringing Mitch Landrieu here to learn about BETA and our other companies and their technologies. Every such visitor leaves as a valuable new ambassador and partner. Onward and upward!”
“BETA Technologies has clearly demonstrated their leadership in a new and innovative field,” said Molly Ryan, Executive Director of the County of Clinton Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA). “The CCIDA prides itself on fostering new investment and job creation in Clinton County and we applaud BETA Technologies’ commitment to expand their economic footprint in Clinton County. The CCIDA, in conjunction with Clinton County, stands ready to support their growth and will continue to work with BETA Technologies who have become a true asset to our continually growing green transportation manufacturing sector and we thank Senator Gillibrand and Mr. Landrieu for recognizing their accomplishments.”
