Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand revealed a $1,000,000 investment in the wastewater treatment facility for the Town of Webb, located in Old Forge. Gillibrand fought to secure this funding in the end-of-year omnibus funding package for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. The omnibus is expected to pass Congress and be signed into law this week. The Town of Webb can use this funding to make critical infrastructure improvements to its wastewater treatment facility and collection system.
“Community health depends on access to functional and safe water infrastructure,” said Senator Gillibrand. “The $1 million I fought to secure in the end-of-year congressional spending package will help the Town of Webb move toward a more reliable and modern wastewater system. I will always advocate for federal resources that will equip our North Country communities with resilient public infrastructure.”
Specifically, the federal funding Senator Gillibrand secured will help the Town of Webb purchase new equipment, sewer line replacements, gas detection equipment, and more for the wastewater treatment facility.
