Schumer, Gillibrand Announce Nearly $230,000 For Chautauqua County/Dunkirk Airport

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand today announced $229,000 in grants from the Department of Transportation for upgrades at Chautauqua County/ Dunkirk Airport. The federal dollars will help support job creation and provide infrastructure upgrades for the airport.

“This is great news for Chautauqua County,” said Schumer. “These federal dollars will go a long way in providing the necessary infrastructure improvements to keep Chautauqua County/ Dunkirk Airport running smoothly for years to come.”

“This is a great investment for the Chautauqua County/Dunkirk Airport,” Senator Gillibrand said. “Upgrading infrastructure at our airports is critical to our economic recovery. These federal dollars will help support job creation for the area and make critical infrastructure improvements at the airport. I will continue working with Senator Schumer and the entire New York Delegation to make sure New York gets its fair share from the federal government.”
 
The federal investment will support job creation for the area and move forward on infrastructure upgrades, including the construction of a taxi lane to improve access to hangars at the airport.

Earlier this year, Senators Schumer and Gillibrand announced $3.5 million to rehabilitate the Chautauqua County/Dunkirk Airport runway.
