Washington, DC – Ahead of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s meeting this evening with UK Prime Minster David Cameron to discuss concerns surrounding the release of convicted terrorist Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, Senator Gillibrand issued the following statement:
“I respect and appreciate the Prime Minister’s comments. He has pledged that his government will review documents on the matter and that is a good step.
“However, I still believe we need a full investigation of al-Megrahi’s release, so we can learn from this mistake and assess what steps can be taken so that justice is served and terrorists are held accountable.”
