Ahead Of The Holidays, Gillibrand Volunteers At The Foundry Center For Youth Development In Buffalo

Nov 22, 2021

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand participated in service activities across the state to help New Yorkers in need ahead of the holiday season. In Buffalo, Gillibrand volunteered at The Foundry, a community-based center committed to youth development and afterschool programming. Senator Gillibrand assisted students in building “little free libraries” that will be used for book-sharing and to inspire readers throughout Buffalo.

“As New Yorkers celebrate the holidays, we must remember those who have been hit hardest by the health, extreme weather, and economic crises we’ve experienced this year. In the spirit of the holiday season, I hope everyone who is able will make time to serve their neighbors in need.” –Senator Gillibrand.

The Foundry upholds its mission to use an inclusive approach to advancing individuals through hands-on learning by hosting afterschool arts programs, workforce development training, and STEAM and entrepreneurial sessions for young adults. They also serve as a business incubator for low-income, minority, women-owned and neighborhood-based businesses.
