U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s effort to ban undocumented immigrants from being counted in the US Census 2020:
“The Census is a vital tool to ensure that all our communities receive the resources they need to thrive. As New Yorkers work to rebuild our economy and our neighborhoods, we can’t afford to leave a single dollar on the table of much needed funding for education, transportation, hospitals, and infrastructure. We must ensure that every person is counted.”
