Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement regarding the Friday night shooting in Buffalo that killed 3-year-old Ramone Carter:
“The Buffalo community is mourning the tragic loss of Ramone Carter, a 3-year-old child killed by senseless gun violence. My heart is with the Carter family as they mourn this unimaginable loss, and my thoughts are with Ramone’s sister as she recovers. In moments like this, we must all stand together to create a safer future for our families and community. I pledge to do everything in my power to pass commonsense gun reforms, like strengthening background checks, banning military-style assault rifles, and getting illegal guns off our streets. We can, and must, put an end to these terrible tragedies.”
