Washington, D.C. — New York Senator Kirsten
Gillibrand today congratulated Binghamton University for winning the
America East championship and earning their first trip to the NCAA
Tournament.
“In New York, we take our college basketball seriously, and we expect a lot of our teams across the state.
“There
is nothing more fun and exciting than seeing a New York school make its
first trip to the NCAA tournament. The Bearcats worked hard all
season, put their hearts into it and won the tough games they needed to.
“I congratulate Head Coach Kevin Broadus for
his great leadership, the entire coaching staff and the athletic
department. And of course, all the hardworking players, the Binghamtonn
students and all their great fans.
“We’ve got big hopes for the Bearcats on
their first trip to the NCAA tournament, and wish them all the best. I
know they’ll make us proud.”
