Gillibrand Announces Over $54 Million In Federal Funding To Reimburse New York City For COVID-19 Costs

Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $54,677,371.55 in federal funding to reimburse the New York City Office of Management and Budget for costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding was allocated through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and will be used to reimburse the New York City Office of Management and Budget for the cost of emergency protective measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic, including vaccine administration and distribution.

“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, emergency protective measures were vital to preventing the spread of COVID-19,” said Senator Gillibrand. “These critical federal funds will reimburse the New York City Office of Management and Budget for the cost of these emergency protective measures that helped minimize the threat to the health and safety of the general public. I’m proud to deliver this important funding and will continue to fight to keep our communities safe.”
