Washington,
D.C. – New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today encouraged U.S.
Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu to attend the Rochester
Business Journal, Greater Rochester Enterprise, and the Golisano

commitment to using Alternative Energy as a economic engine for
growth.
In
her letter to Secretary Chu, Senator Gillibrand wrote, “Recently ranked
as one of the nation’s greenest cities, Rochester and the Greater
Rochester region is at the forefront of the new energy economy. I
understand your very busy schedule, but please consider seriously this
invitation and hopefully you or a representative from the Department of
Energy will be available to keynote this very important event.”
The
symposium on Thursday, April 16 will be a day-long with more than 450
attendees. The event will cover topics including the business
advantages of “going green”, sustainable options for municipalities and
school districts, and the environmental redesign of existing

organizations to recognize their efforts in using alternative energy,
creating sustainable enterprises, and developing environmentally
friendly products.
